  • We guys always hear the rules from our women. Here are Our rules.

1 Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

2 Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do we.

3 You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

4 If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing", we will act like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

5 If you ask a question you don't want an answer to; expect an answer you

    do not want to hear.

6 If you think you are fat, you probably are. Do not ask us.

7 Most guys own three pairs of shoes--tops. What makes you think we'd be any good at choosing which pair, out of thirty, would look good with your dress?

8 Shopping is not a sport, and no, we are never going to think of it that

    way.

9 BEER is as exciting for us as handbags are for you.

10 Thank you for reading this. Yes. I know, I have to sleep on the couch1 tonight, but did you know, it's like camping.

What Women Say and What They Mean

If you (men) have a good knowledge of these WORDS WOMEN USE, you have a better than average chance of actually surviving a negative encounter.

This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

    2 FIVE MINUTES:5分钟

If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping2 around the house.

This means "something", and you should be on your toes. "Nothing" is usually used to describe the feeling a woman has of wanting to turn you inside out, upside down, and backwards3. "Nothing" usually signifies4 an argument that will last "Five Minutes" and end with the word "Fine".

4 GO AHEAD (With Raised Eyebrows):

This is a dare. One that will result in a woman getting upset over "Nothing" and will end with the word "Fine".

    5 GO AHEAD (Normal Eyebrows):

This means "I give up" or "do what you want because I don't care". You will get a "Raised Eyebrow5 Go Ahead" in just a few minutes, followed by "Nothing" and "Fine" and she will talk to you in about "Five Minutes" when she cools off.

    6 LOUD SIGH:

This is not actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A "loud sigh" means she thinks you are an idiot6 at that moment, and wonders why she is wasting her time standing7 here arguing with you over "Nothing".

    7 THAT'S OKAY:还好

This is one of the most dangerous statements that a woman can make to a man. "That's Okay" means that she wants to think long and hard before paying you back for whatever it is that you have done. At some point in the near future, you are going to be in some mighty8 big trouble.

    8 PLEASE DO:请这样

This is not a statement, it is an offer. A woman is giving you the chance to come up with whatever excuse or reason you have for doing whatever it is that you have done. You have a fair chance with the truth, so be careful and you shouldn't get a "That's Okay".

A woman is thanking you. Do not faint. Just say "you're welcome".

    10 THANKS A LOT:多谢

This is much different from "Thanks." A woman will say, "Thanks A Lot" when she is really ticking off at you. It signifies that you have offended her in some callous9 way, and will be followed by the "Loud Sigh". Be careful not to ask what is wrong after the "Loud Sigh" as she will only tell you "Nothing".
