The National Development and Reform Commission on last Tuesday announced a rise in the per-ton retail¹ price of gasoline by 165 yuan and diesel² by 160 yuan.

国家发展改革委上周二发布通知称，将汽、柴油零售价格每吨分别上调165元和160元。

This is the first adjustment since China made changes to its oil pricing mechanism³ in January, which set a floor for adjustment to buffer⁴ the negative effects of violent fluctuations⁵ in international oil prices.

这次是自我国于今年1月对石油定价机制做出改变之后的第一次油价调整。该机制为价格调整做好了基础，以此减少国际油价剧烈波动带来的负面影响。

The adjustment will see benchmark retail prices for gasoline go up by RMB0.12 per liter and diesel increase by RMB0.14 per liter.

据测算，本次调整将会使得90号汽油和0号柴油的零售价格每升分别上涨0.12元和0.14元。
