109 so-called¹ ’Super Scholars’ at a high school in east China’s Anhui Province have reportedly received a total of 547 admission² letters from universities in the United States.

With just three weeks to go till this year’s College Entrance Examination³, known as the Gaokao, the students were comparing notes at their commencement ceremony at the International Department of Hefei No.1 High School.

30% of the students received offers from the top 30 universities in the U.S., with 92% getting offers from the top 50 schools, such as Smith College, Cornell University, the University of California, Berkeley, etc.

合肥一中美国高中30%的毕业生收到了美国TOP30大学的通知书，92%毕业生收到美国TOP50大学的通知书，其中包括史密斯大学，康奈尔大学，加州大学伯克利分校等知名院校。

One student, Wu Runkun, says he received six admission letters this semester⁴. He said the achievement wasn’t easy, and that he’d had to prepare at least six months ahead before applying for these schools.

But the hard work has only just begun. Wu also said he believes Chinese students who study in the U.S. may struggle to fit in due to the differing education styles between China and the United States.

Apart from the United States, the 109 ’super scholar’ students also received offers from universities in other countries, including Australia and Canada.

除了美国之外，“学霸班”的109名同学还收到了澳大利亚、加拿大等国家大学的录取通知书。
