Nobel laureates Bernard L Feringa and Kurt Wuthrich have filed applications for permanent residency in Shanghai and are expected to be granted Chinese "green cards" by the end of this year.

近日，诺贝尔奖得主伯纳德·L·费林加和库尔特·维特里希已在上海提交永久居留权申请，预计将于今年年底获得中国“绿卡”。

The two Nobel laureates are reportedly to be among the first batch¹ of Nobel Prize winners who are able to work in Shanghai with permanent residency.

据报道，这两位科学家将成为首批在上海工作并拥有永久居留权的诺奖得主。

Bernard L Feringa won 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry and now works as a guest professor in East China University of Science and Technology, leading his research team in developing light-stimulus responsive materials which enjoy a promising² prospect³ in medical treatment, electronics, energy conservation and other fields.

费林加获得了2016年诺贝尔化学奖，目前任华东理工大学客座教授，带领研究团队研发光刺激响应性材料。这种材料在医疗、电子、节能等领域具有广阔的前景。

Kurt Wuthrich, the 2002 Nobel laureate in chemistry is a distinguished⁴ professor in Shanghai Tech University.

2002年诺贝尔化学奖得主库尔特·维特里希则是上海科技大学的特聘教授。

His team is working on molecular⁵ mechanism⁶ of G-protein-coupled receptors in the human body by using liquid NMR technologies, with the goal of creating breakthroughs in targeted medicine.
