Over the more than 84 million acres of land comprising America’s national parks, more than 1,100 people to travel through the parks have gone missing in the past 150 years. Many of these people were experienced hikers, yet went mysteriously missing and never were found.

Located in British Columbia, Canada, this stretch of highway has been the location of a number of disappearances1, mostly young women. The first to go missing was a woman named Monica Ingas, who disappeared in 1975. Since that time, 17 other people have vanished along Highway 16.
