Autumn Song

Since olden days we feel in autumn sad and drear,

But I say spring cannot compete with autumn clear.

On a fine day a crane cleaves¹ the clouds and soars high;

It leads the poet's lofty mind to azure² sky.

To the Tune of "Remembering Southern Shore"

Men after sad autumn since olden days,

But I say it is better than springtime.

A crane in the clear air piles clouds and flies,

And leads my verse to the blue sky sublime³.

译文】

自古以来，骚人墨客都悲叹秋天萧条，我却说秋天远远胜过春天。

秋日晴空万里，一只仙鹤推开云层扶摇直上，便引发我的诗情飞上云霄。

注释】

悲寂寥：悲叹冷清萧条。

春朝：春天。

排云：指推开云层。

排：推，有冲破的意思。

碧霄：蓝天。
