Li Bai, also known as Li Bo or Li Po, was a major Chinese poet during the Tang Dynasty, often regarded as one of the greatest poets in Chinese history. He was born around 701 AD in Suyab, in Central Asia, though his family moved to Sichuan province when he was a child. Li Bai was known for his romantic and imaginative¹ style, frequently writing about nature, friendship, and wine. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Li Bai did not pursue a traditional official career path for long. Instead, he traveled extensively across China, composing poems that captured the beauty of landscapes such as mountains, rivers, and the moon.

His famous works, including "Quiet Night Thought," "Drinking Alone under the Moon," and "The Hard Road to Shu," remain deeply loved today.
