Huang Tingjian was a well-known calligrapher¹, poet, and filial son who lived during the Song Dynasty.

黄庭坚，北宋分宁（今江西修水）人，著名诗人、书法家。

His pseudonym² was Huang Shangu. As a man of letters, his fame was well-established during his lifetime.

哲宗元符年间位居太史，天性极其孝顺

No matter the style of poetry, essays, or calligraphy³, his work met with popular acclaim⁴.

Su Dongpo was his colleague, and the two men were known as "The Poets Su and Huang."
