The theoretical physicist² and cosmologist spoke³ at the Sydney Opera House on Saturday night via 3D hologram projection⁴ from his actual location at Cambridge University in the U.K.

His projection answered questions from his daughter journalist Lucy Hawking, and physicist Paul Davies, who were physically⁶ present, as well as attendees at the opera house. Hawking, who is confined to a wheelchair, also spoke candidly⁷ about his battle with ALS.

While the acclaimed⁸ physicist answered many questions about the future of our planet, one audience member had other concerns. According to BuzzFeed, a questioner asked "What do you think is the cosmological effect of Zayn leaving One Direction and consequently breaking the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the world?”

"Finally, a question about something important," Hawking reportedly responded, before doling⁹ out some serious wisdom.

"My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay close attention to the study of theoretical physics. Because one day there may well be proof of multiple universes," he said.
