我国首现MERS疑似病例

Guangdong province reported its first suspected case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome¹ (MERS), the National Health and Family Planning Commission announced Thursday.

国家卫生计生委28日宣布，广东省出现首例中东呼吸综合征疑似病例。

A South Korean believed to be infected with the deadly virus came to China for a business trip Tuesday. The 44-year-old man expressed discomfort² as early as May 21 and 38.7℃ fever on Monday.

患者为一名44岁的韩国男子。26日，该患者来到中国出差。他早在21日已出现不适，25日发烧，体温达38.7℃。

He arrived in Hong Kong on Tuesday and went on to Huizhou via Shenzhen.

26日该男子抵达香港，经深圳抵达惠州。

MERS is a respiratory illness caused by a new type of corona³ virus. There is no vaccine⁴ or treatment for the disease, with its fatality⁵ rate reaching 40.7%.

中东呼吸综合征是由一种新型冠状病毒引起的呼吸道疾病，目前尚无可用的疫苗和药物治疗方法，死亡率高达40.7%。
