A contest has began to come up with a name for the world's longest and highest glass bridge in China's Hunan province.

一场为位于中国湖南省的世界上最长、最高玻璃桥的全球征名活动已经正式开启。

The glass bridge, which is built at a height of about 300 meters. More than 70 glass balls, each weighing 750 kg, have been installed randomly² to counter sympathetic vibration³. The bridge is expected to open to the public before May 2016.

这座玻璃桥长430米，宽6米，桥面距谷底相对高度约300米，玻璃桥上不规则地放置着70多个玻璃球，每个玻璃球重达750公斤，有效遏制了人行共振。该桥将于明年5月前对外开放。

The closing date for entries is February 29, next year and it must represent the name in no more than ten Chinese characters. "Zhangjiajie", "Daxiagu" (Grand Canyon⁴) and "glass bridge" will not be counted.

本次征名活动的截止日期是明年的2月29日，并且要求字数限制在10个(含)以内。“张家界”和“大峡谷”、“玻璃桥”这些字不计算在内。

Suggested names should be original and reflect the unique nature of the structure. Entries must be made through social media app, WeChat.

候选名称应该是原创的，同时也能反映出这座建筑的独一无二的特点。作品必须通过社交媒体APP--微信来参赛。

Whoever comes up with the winning name will be awarded 10,000 yuan ($1,543.4) for each word, will be invited to the opening ceremony and given the title Denominator of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, a lifelong honour allowing the winner to visit Zhangjiajie for free for life.

无论最终谁想出了最终的名称，奖励标准都是一个字一万元。除此之外，获奖作者还会被邀请参加开幕仪式并授予“张家界大峡谷玻璃桥命名人”的终身荣誉称号，且能够终身免费游览张家界大峡谷景区。

Other 1,000 entrants will be chosen at random¹ and invited, along with a family member, on a tour of the location before the end of 2016.

景区还将从投稿作者中随机抽选1000名幸运者，可在2016年内携一名家属免费游览张家界大峡谷景区。
