2017 is the Year of the Rooster according to Chinese zodiac. The Year of the Rooster will start from Jan. 28, 2017 (Chinese New Year) and last to Feb. 15, 2018.

2017年是中国生肖排列中的鸡年，按中国新年计算，鸡年会从2017年1月28日持续到2018年2月15日。

Rooster is almost the epitome¹ of fidelity² and punctuality. For ancestors who had no alarm clocks, the crowing was significant, as it could awaken³ people to get up and start to work. In Chinese culture, another symbolic⁴ meaning of chicken carries is exorcising evil spirits.

1.Aristotle

1.亚里士多德，公元前384年生

Aristotle was a Greek philosopher and scientist. At seventeen or eighteen years of age, he joined Plato's Academy in Athens and remained there until the age of thirty-seven. Shortly after Plato died, Aristotle left Athens and, at the request of Philip of Macedon, tutored Alexander the Great beginning in 343 BC.

He is recognised as the most accomplished⁶ strategist of his era, and has been compared to Sun Tzu, the author of The Art of War.

3.Rabindranath Tagore

3.拉宾德拉纳特·泰戈尔， 1861年生

Author of Gitanjali and its "profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse", he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.

4. Liang Qichao

Liang Qichao, courtesy name Zhuoru, art name Rengong, was a Chinese philosopher, educator and reformist who lived during the late Qing dynasty and the early Republic of China. He inspired Chinese scholars with his writings and reform movements.

梁启超，字卓如，号任公。中国哲学家、教育家，清末民初改良派的代表人物。他的文章和变法运动激励着一代代中国学者。

5.Prince Philip

5.菲利普亲王， 1921年生

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II. Chinese people know more about his wife than him. The couple had four children and their romance started by writing letters to each other.

6.Faye Wong

Born on Aug 8 in the Rooster Year 1969, Chinese queen of pop music Faye Wong is a legendary⁷ singer who has a psychedelic voice.

王菲，中国流行乐坛天后，生于1969年8月8日，属鸡。她的嗓音空灵缥缈，被誉为天籁之音。

Her music has won her a large group of followers⁸ from many Asian countries, including China, Singapore and Japan. In 2000, she was recognized by Guinness World Records as the Best Selling Canto-Pop Female.

7.Guo Jingjing

7.郭晶晶, 1981年生

Guo Jingjing is a female diver from the People's Republic of China. During the 2004 Summer Olympics She won a gold medal in the 3 meter women's synchronized⁹ springboard along with Wu Minxia, before winning her first individual Olympic gold in the 3 meter women's springboard. After the 2004 Summer Olympics, Guo became a Chinese national sports figure. Guo won two more gold medals at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. She announced her retirement¹⁰ in 2011.
