According to a report by The Straits Times, this was confirmed by the show's creator Angie Chai, April 11 via Weibo.

据《海峡时报》报道，该剧制作人柴智屏于4月11日在新浪微博上确认了（翻拍的）消息。

The announcement came in the heels of former Meteor Garden lead actress Barbie Hsu's post on her social media account greeting fans because of the show's anniversary and saying Angie has a surprise for them.

就在该消息公布前不久，《流星花园》的昔日女主角徐熙媛才刚刚在微博上和粉丝庆祝该剧播出纪念日，还透露柴智屏为他们准备了惊喜。

"On April 12, 2001, 16 years ago, Meteor Garden premiered and it was the beginning of a beautiful dream… Yes! Meteor Garden is being remade! An all-new Meteor Garden belonging to your youth!" the TV producer said.

制作人柴智屏说道：“16年前的2001年4月12日，《流星花园》开播，是一个美丽梦想的开始。是的！《流星花园》要重拍了！全新属于你们青春的《流星花园》！”

Currently screening for actors, she said that they, "May use new people, idols¹ or serious actors. Everyone is welcome to offer candidates."

最近，柴智屏在甄选新版演员，对此她表示：“用新人、偶像演员或实力派演员都有可能，欢迎大家提供人选。”

They will also see if the original cast, the well-loved F4 – Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Ken² Zhu and Van Ness Wu, and Barbie, can do cameo roles.

Meanwhile, the new Meteor Garden is also said to be a "fuller and flashier adaptation of the books," which was based from the Japanese manga Boys Over Flowers.

与此同时，新版《流星花园》据说将在日本漫画原著《花样男子》的基础上进行更加全面且华丽的改编。

Elaborating on the details, the report said that each episode will cost 15 million New Taiwan dollars which is 30 times bigger than the budget for the 2001 show that was allotted³ 500,000 New Taiwan dollars per episode.

相关报道还透露了相关细节，据悉，该剧制作费将达到单集1500万新台币（约合338万人民币），是2001年的30倍之多。当年每集的制作费也就在50万新台币（约合11万人民币）左右。
