Tencent Holdings' WeChat, China's most popular messenger app, denied storing users' chat histories, after a top businessman was quoted in media reports as saying he believed Tencent was monitoring everyone's account.
中国最流行的聊天应用、腾讯旗下的微信,于日前否认了其留存用户的聊天记录。之前有媒体报道引用一名企业高管的话称,他认为腾讯正在监视每个人的微信。
"WeChat does not store any users' chat history. That is only stored in users' mobiles, computers and other terminals," WeChat said in a post on the social media platform.
微信在其社交媒体平台上称:“微信没有留存任何一个用户的聊天记录。聊天记录仅仅存储在用户的手机、电脑以及其他终端上。”
"WeChat will not use any content from user chats for big data analysis. Because of WeChat's technical model that does not store or analyse user chats, the rumour1 that 'we are watching your WeChat everyday' is pure misunderstanding."
