Maisie Williams seems to have revealed which month the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will return in. It's been known for some time that the HBO series won't be on television screens at all in 2018, but will make its final stand at some stage in 2019.

Williams - who has played Arya Stark¹ since the series began in 2010 - told Metro²: “We wrap in December and we air our first episode in April. That's a four-month turnaround for these huge episodes.

She continued: “There's a lot that goes into the final edit. You would not want to rush this season at all. We owe it to our audience and our fans to really do this final season to the best of our abilities.”
