Judy was a disabled girl. She had no arms when she was born. So she had to do many things with her feet. There were many questions about whether she could live a normal life. However her father had full confidence in her. With the support of her parents and family, she became confident in herself and continued to explore across the world, with her feet.
As a child, Judy studied dance in her home town. When the first performance arrived, she asked herself to be put in the back row. Her dance teacher told her there was no back row.
Nervously1, she appeared on the stage with the other students and performed well. When she finished, the applause2 from the audience gave her encouragement and the confidence to continue dancing for 14 years.
After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Arizona, where she got a bachelor's degree in Psychology3. When talking about her degree, she explains that the way people think has a greater influence on her life than a physical limitation.
Judy's most famous accomplishment4 was learning how to fly. She received the Guinness World Record for being the first person permitted to fly an airplane with
only her feet.
Now Judy works as a lecturer. She travels the world sharing her story and encouraging people to be creative and confident. She often says, "Think outside the shoes."
