Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc, said that the US tech giant will partner with China's Tsinghua University to create a joint research center that will focus on advanced technologies, including machine learning and computer vision.

美国科技巨头苹果公司首席执行官蒂姆·库克日前表示，苹果将和中国的清华大学合作成立联合研究中心，专注于机器学习和计算机视觉等先进技术研究。

The company also will donate 25 million yuan to the China Development Research Foundation, as part of its efforts to help students in the nation's less-developed areas, Cook said at the China Development Forum¹ in Beijing.

库克在北京举行的中国发展论坛上还表示，作为帮助中国贫困地区学生的部分努力，苹果还将向中国发展研究基金会捐赠2500万元。

The money will be used to support the foundation's digitalization program and "help more than 300,000 students from kindergarten to middle school in less-developed areas to find a way out of poverty," Cook said.
