Liu Qian(刘谦) is the only magician¹ from Taiwan, China to have been invited to Las Vegas(拉斯维加斯) and the Magic Castle of Hollywood(好莱坞魔术城堡) for magic show, and also the magician in Taiwan who has won most international prizes. He has performed magic throughout the world and is praised for his leading style(前卫风格) and amazing originality².

Liu Qian began to teach himself magic skills at the age of 7. At 8, he tried to show his magic to his classmates. His first magic show was to put a pencil into his mouth and then take it out from his neck. When he graduated from a university, he just wanted to have a regular job and perform magic at home after work. But he failed again and again in job-hunting. So he decided³ to make a living by performing magic. He has never learned any magic from anybody. Instead, his great success depends completely on his own study and observation.

Nowadays, on the Internet, there are many popular posts(帖子) which attempt to uncover the secret of Liu’s magic. About this, Liu says, “I can say surely that theses⁴ posts are just a kind of guess by amateurs⁵. So far, nobody has been able to guess the secret of my magic in a correct way. No magician would reveal the content and the secret of his magic to the public. Neither would I. In fact, just like film and opera, magic is one of performing arts. People can enjoy themselves from watching magic just as they do so from seeing a movie. It’s not necessary for them to try to uncover the secret of magic, because it is not a trick, but a dream-like situation in a conscious state. Can you get any pleasure if you wake up from such a dream?”

刘谦不赞成破解魔术刘谦是唯一曾受邀至美国拉斯维加斯及好莱坞魔术城堡演出的中国台湾魔术师，也是台湾获得最多国际奖项的魔术师。他表演的足迹遍布世界各地，表演的前卫风格及惊人的创意，也获得海内外同行赞赏。

刘谦7岁时开始自学魔术，8岁时就尝试表演给同学看。他所表演的第一个魔术是，先把一支铅笔吃进嘴里，再把它从后脑取出来。刘谦从大学毕业后，最初只想当一个平凡的上班族，下班后在自己家里玩魔术。但是，他多次应征工作皆无所获，故决定以魔术表演维生。他始终没有正式拜师学艺，而是通过自我学习、各处揣摩，才获得今天的成果。

现在网上流传着不少揭秘刘谦魔术的帖子，刘谦说：“我可以确定这些都是外行的猜测，迄今没有一个人能猜出我魔术的真正表演奥秘。任何一个魔术师都不会将他表演魔术的内容、奥秘加以公开，我当然也不会。其实魔术与电影、戏剧一样，都是一种表演艺术，大家可以用看电影的那种轻松心情观赏。大家不必执着于‘破解’魔术，因为它不是骗局，而是一个清醒的梦境，非要把美梦弄醒，还有什么乐趣呢？”
