多所高校缩短国庆假期

A number of universities have reduced holidays for the coming National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, as students are encouraged not to leave campus for nonessential travel to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

国内多所高校决定缩短即将到来的国庆中秋长假，鼓励学生非必要不离校，以防止新冠肺炎的传播。

This year's National Day holiday, which runs from Oct 1 to 8, has been extended one day as Mid-Autumn Festival falls on Oct 1.

今年10月1日恰逢中秋节，因此国庆假期比往年多了一天，从10月1日一直持续至10月8日。

Hubei University in Wuhan, for instance, has cut the eight-day holiday to a one-day break, but will begin the winter vacation at an earlier date as compensation.

North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power in Zhengzhou, Henan province, has halved¹ the holiday to four days. It will start winter vacation a week earlier than scheduled instead.
