宋人有耕者，田中有株，兔走触株，折颈而死。因释其耒而守株，冀复得兔。兔不可复得，而身为宋国笑。

"Waiting for More Hares by the Stump¹"

A farmer in the State of Song was working in his field when a hare dashed by, accidentally hit a tree stump, broke its neck, and died. The farmer abandoned his plow² and waited by the stump, hoping to catch another hare this way. No more hares came, and he became the laughingstock of his village.

宋国有个农夫，田里有一截树桩。一天，一只兔子飞奔时撞到树桩上，折断脖子死了。农夫便放下农具，守在树桩旁，希望再捡到撞死的兔子。结果兔子没等到，他自己却成了宋国人的笑柄。

寓意：

讽刺那些妄想不劳而获、固守狭隘经验的人，告诫人们要主动努力，不可心存侥幸。
