The Little Gardener¹

One day, Tom visited his grandpa’s farm. He saw many trees, flowers, and grass. There were apples, bananas, oranges, and grapes growing there.

Tom asked, “Grandpa, how do these plants grow so well?”

Grandpa smiled and said, “They need water, sun, and fresh air. Let’s plant some new flowers in the garden.”

Tom helped Grandpa give water to the plants. “We must take care of them,” said Grandpa. “They give us fruits and beauty².”

Tom was happy. He loved the farm and the school of nature!

一天，汤姆去了爷爷的农场。他看到了许多树、花和草，还有长着的苹果、香蕉、橙子和葡萄。

汤姆问：“爷爷，这些植物怎么长得这么好？”

爷爷笑着说：“它们需要 水、阳光和新鲜的空气。我们到花园里种些新花吧。”
