The Long and Short of It

Lucy has a cat named Mimi. Mimi has a long body but short legs. She is not fat, but very thin. She walks slow, but Lucy loves her very much. Mimi has a fluffy² tail.

One day, Lucy says, "Bye, Mimi! I'm going³ to buy a gift for her friend." She buys a picture and a card. At home, Lucy sings a song, and Mimi dances happily⁴. Lucy's friend smiles and says, "Your cat is right for you!"

Lucy laughs and says, "Yes, I love all of her—so much!" They talk and play. Later⁵, Lucy asks, "Do you want to sing or dance?" Her friend says, "Both!" They have much fun together.

长短之间

露西有一只叫咪咪的猫。咪咪身体很长，但腿很短。她不胖，反而很瘦。她走路很慢，但露西非常爱她。咪咪有一条毛茸茸的尾巴。

一天，露西说：“再见，咪咪！我要去给她的朋友买礼物。”她买了一幅画和一张贺卡。回到家，露西唱了一首歌，咪咪开心地跳舞。露西的朋友笑着说：“你的猫正适合你！”

露西笑着说：“是的，我爱她的全部——那么多！”她们聊天、玩耍。后来，露西问：“你想唱歌还是跳舞？”她的朋友说：“都要！”她们玩得非常开心。
