The Silken Tent 丝绸帐篷

She is as in a field a silken tent

At midday when a sunny summer breeze

Has dried the dew and all its ropes relent,

So that in guys it gently sways at ease

Sand its supporting central cedar¹ pole,

That is its pinnacle² to heavenward

Seems to owe naught³ to any single cord,

In the capriciousness of summer air,
