不惧冬风凛冽

Blow, blow, thou winter wind,

Thou art not so unkind

Most friendship is feigning³, most loving mere⁴ folly⁵;

This life is most jolly.

Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,

That dost not bite so nigh

As benefits forgot:

Though thou the waters warp⁶,

Thy sting is not so sharp

As friendship remember'd not.
