China will soon begin reform of professional ranking.

我国将很快开启职称评定的改革。

According to a circular issued by the general offices of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the State Council, the reform will begin in engineering, hygiene¹, agriculture, accounting², institutes of higher education, and scientific research within three years.

根据中共中央办公厅、国务院办公厅近日印发的通知，改革将在三年内在工程、卫生、农业、会计、高校和科研领域开启。

The new professional ranking system will take shape in five years. Professional ranks will also be expanded to include new professions and industries.

新的职称评定机制将在五年内形成。职称评定的范围也会扩大，将包括新兴专业和行业。

The system will focus on ethics³ and innovation, and there will be no universal requirements in regard to foreign language ability or computer skills.

新的机制将注重品德与创新，对外语能力和计算机技能不作统一要求。

The process will become more open and transparent⁴.

整个过程将变得更加开放透明。

Less weight will be given to published work in the new professional ranking system.

此外，论文在新的职称评定机制中的比重将降低。
