Add enhanced risk of premature¹ balding to the list of illnesses and indignities² faced by diminutive³ men of European descent, said a new study.

"It seems that men with a relatively⁴ shorter body height have a higher chance of losing their hair," University of Bonn professor Stefanie Heilmann-Heimbach, the lead author of the study told AFP.

The study, published in Nature Communications, identified 63 genetic⁸ variations "that increase the risk of premature hair loss," Heilmann-Heimbach said.
