A seminar on national human rights education and research was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, last Thursday.

The event was co-organized by China Society for Human Rights Studies and Publicity¹ Department of Shaanxi Provincial² Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Participants said China has made historic progress in the development of human rights during the 40 years of reform and opening-up, building a relatively³ complete system of human rights protection and opening up a human rights development road suitable to the country's conditions, the seminar organizers said in a statement.

研讨会组织者在一份声明中表示，与会人士指出，在改革开放40年的时间里，中国的人权发展取得了历史性的进步，建立了相对完整的人权保障体系，开辟了一条适合中国国情的人权发展道路。

In recent years, human rights education and research institutes, experts and scholars in the field actively⁴ participate in international exchanges, explaining and interpreting Chinese human rights concepts and development paths, according to the statement.

声明称，近年来，人权教育与研究机构及专家学者积极参与国际交流，阐释中国人权理念和发展道路。

About one hundred experts and scholars and representatives of relevant departments took part in the seminar and discussed various topics, including talent cultivation⁵ of human rights and theoretical innovation on human rights in the new era, the statement said.

声明指出，大约有100名专家、学者和相关实务部门代表参加了此次研讨会，并对“人权人才培养”、“新时代人权理论创新”等多个议题进行了讨论。
